Brunton went into the meeting with 96 wins for the season.
He won the first race with newcomer Shot Of Irish and, with good chances in most of the remaining races, had a realistic chance of bringing up his century.
However he now needs three winners at the final meeting of the season at Spreyton next Sunday to become the first Tasmanian trainer to achieve that feat.
Although not impossible, Brunton seldom has many runners on the synthetic track – in contrast to Elwick where he dominates.
The six races abandoned on Sunday will not be rescheduled as a new meeting.
Instead, individual races will be added to meetings as required in the next few weeks to ensure that the prizemoney is not lost to participants.
The only races run were both won by the horses that drew the extreme outside barriers.
A wet section of track near the 900-metre mark was reportedly the cause of the problem, disadvantaging runners that couldn’t avoid it.
David Pires rode the track perfectly to win the opening race by eight lengths on Shot Of Irish who firmed from $2.70 to $1.90 fixed-odds.
In the second race, Bulent Muhcu on Odessa Lad ($6.50) hugged the outside rail before cutting the corner on the home turn then going back to the outside.
He wasn’t challenged in the run home and won by two lengths.
