The 2008 Hawthorn premiership player and inaugural Gold Coast Sun will pull on the Redlegs jumper on Sunday against reigning premiers Rocherlea at Bracknell Oval.
Brown, 33, played 205 AFL matches, kicked 109 goals and last ran out for the NTFA division 1 ladder-leaders against George Town in June last year.
“We got him back for his AFL knowledge to help the younger fellas around the footy club,” Shipton said.
“He fitted into the club really well last year, he was just like one of the boys to be honest, so it was a no brainier to get him over again.
“A lot of the players took on his advice and have grown because of it.”
The Redlegs finished runners up to Rocherlea in 2016 but took them down 14.20 (104) to 9.4 (64) in round 5.
Shipton said his charges were keen for the encounter.
“We certainly lift when Campbell plays,” he said.
“It’s a big weekend for us with a function the night before the stand-alone match on Sunday.
“We are hoping for a big crowd to make it a big day for the club.”
Brown and father Mal will headline a guest speaker’s night at the club on Saturday, from 7pm.
