Well, never fear, the council is here.
City of Launceston General Manager Robert Dobrzynski said the damage at Royal Park occurred during planned path upgrades.
"As the major upgrade of the Seaport boardwalk nears completion, the City of Launceston is taking the opportunity to upgrade the paths throughout Royal Park,” he said.
"This work requires the use of some heavy machinery, which at this time of year can damage the turf.”
Mr Dobrzynski said there was no cause for alarm, and the turn would be returned to its previous state as soon as the upgrades were complete.
"In the meantime, we ask people to obey any pedestrian and warning signage that may be in place and to please be patient while we complete the works," he said.
