That’ll be the order you’ll hear most at Saint John Craft Beer on Monday when Launceston hosts its first ever Beer and Bubs session.
A nationwide initiative, Beer and Bubs sees expectant fathers gather at their local pub for an education session on what to expect from childbirth and how they can help their partners.
Event host and experienced midwife Ron Hastie, who will also host follow-up sessions on September 18 and November 20, has been running sessions in Hobart since 2012.
“The friendly, casual atmosphere of the pub is a great venue for childbirth education,” Mr Hastie said.
“Childbirth is unfamiliar territory for most blokes, so it’s more comfortable for them to be in their natural environment to learn about something so foreign.
“Most men are surprised to learn that childbirth is not a spectator sport and that they can have a profound impact on their partner’s birth experience, helping to make it faster and easier for them.”
