Federal Opposition innovation, industry, science and research spokesman Kim Carr, alongside Bass Labor MHR Ross Hart, will host the discussion in the state’s North-East to hear from Launceston stakeholders about the impact energy prices are having on jobs and decision making.
The discussion is set to include representatives from businesses, manufacturing firms, such as Bell Bay Aluminium, unions and community organisations to bring their ideas forward to the table.
Senator Carr said more needed to be done at a national level to ensure jobs were secure for people working within the industry and that states had access to secure energy.
