It was an office romance that brought Bronwyn and Matthew together and after two years together, Matthew thought it was time to recreate the romance of their first date.

“We went for a drive to Devonport, which is where we went on our first date,” Bronwyn said.
“Matt works at a car dealership and so was able to even get the same car we had used two years previous.
“As we were walking along the beach Matt turned to me and said;
‘‘I can’t believe that this time two years ago we were walking on the same beach and I was wondering to myself if you actually liked me, and here we are now and I’m wondering if you’d like to be my wife?’’
“It was the perfect proposal and he already had the ring picked out.”
While most brides-to be can’t wait to get their wedding planners and organisers out, Bronwyn confessed that it wasn’t her favourite thing.
“I hated wedding planning, I wasn’t like most brides to-be that can’t wait to start organising, I didn’t enjoy it at all.” Bronwyn said.
“We wanted to set a date that gave us enough time to plan so it didn’t get stressful and that also avoided the Christmas rush.
“I was very lucky as Matt was fantastic he got really heavily involved, I’d say we split the responsibilities 50/50.”
In fact it was Matthew’s contacts that found them the perfect wedding venue, Launceston’s iconic Hatherley House.
“Matthew is in a local running group with the owner of Hatherley House and it was her who suggested having the wedding ceremony in the property’s garden.
“They don’t usually do weddings so we thought it was perfect to have somewhere so unique and it was so special for us because nobody else had done it.
“It was the perfect venue and our photos capture it beautifully.”
The day was made even more special by the couples nephews who acted as ring bearers on the day.
“Our nephews play a huge part in our life and it really meant a lot to Matt that they were involved,” Bronwyn said.
“We had suits made for them to match the groomsmen and they did a fantastic job.”
After the ceremony Bronwyn and Matthew made their way to another of Launceston’s historic buildings, The Tramshed for their evening reception to celebrate with friends and family.
While Bronwyn didn’t particularly enjoy all aspects of wedding planning she did have some advice for couples starting their wedding journey.
“ If I had any advice for other brides it would be to take the time to plan, ticking things off the list each month saves on the stress and it was much more enjoyable that way.”
