The energetic 18-year-old applied with hundreds in a nationwide competition to express their love for the angling pursuit.
He was judged one of the three best Australian finallists to win a place towards fishing trips to New South Wales and also to New Zealand at the academy.
“This is an opportunity to learn more about fly fishing and to get better at fly fishing,” Cramp told The Examiner.
Cramp is now on the verge of winning the place for 16-20-year-old flyfishers before voting ends at 6pm (AEST) on Monday night.
He leads the online poll at 3pm, with just over 1600 Facebook likes, more than 400 from his nearest rival.
Examiner readers, who want to get behind Cramp, can vote directly on his photo via the Aussie Fly Fisher Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/aussieflyfisher/posts/1056382944498165
