Youl was in the men’s coxed four crew along with New South Welshmen Sam Hardy and Andrew Judge, West Australian Sam Marsh, and South Australian coxswain Georgia Litt.
Rowing Australia announced two additional crews to compete in Plovdiv from July 19 to 23 following secondary selection trials.
Former Tasmanian Institute of Sport rowing coach, Western Australia-based Rhett Ayliffe, was named to guide the women’s pair and men’s single scull.
Selector Lyall McCarthy said: “A number of these athletes weren’t successful at the first under-age national selection trials and have gone away and improved on their performance substantially to earn selection, which is extremely pleasing.”
The team will travel to Italy next week to prepare at the AIS European training centre.
