A green Mazda MX-5 has left the road at this location impacting a hydro power pole in the vicinity of Thompsons Road.
Damage to the vehicle required Tasmania Fire Service to extract the driver of the vehicle prior to transport to hospital.
The driver of the vehicle, a 62 year old female sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to the North West Regional Hospital in a critical condition.
The 58 year old male passenger in the vehicle did not sustain injuries and was transported to the North West Regional Hospital as a precaution.
The cause of the accident is at this time undetermined.
Western Crash Investigation Services, Ulverstone Police and members of Western Traffic Services attended the crash with the road closed to all traffic whilst the scene was documented.
With impending inclement weather due to cross the state overnight and Friday, police would like to take the opportunity to remind motorists to drive to the conditions.
Kindred Road is open to normal vehicle traffic.
UPDATE, 3:05PM: One person has been taken to hospital with potential serious injuries following the crash on Kindred Road, Forth.
The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Tasmanian police said the cause of the crash is unknown at this stage but it seems the driver has run off the road into a telegraph pole.
No power lines are down across the road.
Tasmanian police have said the road will remain closed for at least another two hours.
UPDATE: One person has been seriously injured following the crash on Kindred Road, Forth.
Tasmania Police has advised motorists to avoid the area.

The single vehicle crash has occurred on Kindred Road at Forth.
It’s reported power lines are reportedly down on the road.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area until further notice.
