The school was the first to enter a team in the Australian Barbecue Alliance competition.
The team of eight took part in the competition as part of the Bay of Fires Winter Arts Festival held in June and finished 6th for its pork and 7th in the lamb, coming 10th all over.
The school’s engineering pathway teacher, Justin Emmerton, said the team put in an amazing effort.
“This was an amazing opportunity for the students to participate in an open event and make such a positive impact all around,” he said.
Students made the smokers in their metal work class with the weekly help of Bruce Cornelius from the Health Hub.
