Shooter Estelle Margetts will make her 100th appearance for Cavaliers in a must-win clash for both sides, with Cripps Waratah sitting two games out of the top four in fifth spot and Cavaliers a further two games behind.
Cavaliers coach Dannie Carstens said her team would enter the match full of confidence having strung together a succession of encouraging performances in recent matches.
“Over the last few weeks (assistant coach Nicole Williams) and I have been so proud of the way that the girls have come together - even though last week’s score line showed a comprehensive win by Arrows, it did not reflect on some of the quality netball that our girls played,” Carstens said.
“It was one of the first times all season that I have seen the girls fight hard for four quarters of netball.”
Attacker Kate Gibson was a shining light in last week’s defeat to top-of-the-table Arrows and will need to be at her best again to get the better of Cripps Waratah’s defence.
“Kate was outstanding last week.
“She really led from the front under difficult Arrows defence and dominated in the attacking circle, with some great work from Dana Lester providing the circle with lots of scoring opportunities in centre and the dominance from Rachael Smith in defence.
“We will certainly be asking all three girls to lead from the front in their respective positions on court.”
Cavaliers and Cripps Waratah will face off at the Silverdome at 6.15pm Saturday.
Northern Hawks have a bye this week.
