Police said the crash is causing traffic delays to motorists travelling in the south-bound lanes near the wetlands.
Motorists travelling into Launceston are reporting traffic is banked up to Legana.
Police are reminding drivers in Northern Tasmania to drive to the conditions as Thursday’s crash is the second in two days on the West Tamar Highway.
Weather forecasts for the North predicted three days of snow, hail and fog, as a cold front moves over the state.
Despite the fog causing low visibility, Launceston Airport operations and compliance manager Peter Holmes said flights shouldn’t be impacted.
“We do not expect any of the flights that are originating from or arriving into Launceston to be affected by the weather, but we can’t comment on what is happening at other airports,” he said.
