Nicholas Wood, Jacob Fitch, Alexander Seen and Logan Smith were bestowed their awards by Her Excellency Professor the Honourable Kate Warner at Government House on the May 26. Designed to encourage the personal and social development of Venturer Scouts aged between 15 and 18, the Queen’s Scout Award scheme is a non-competitive program of community, adventure and leadership based activities. Group leader Jay Fitch said awards were thoroughly deserved.
“Throughout the last three years, our four Queen’s Scout Award recipients have spent hundreds of hours demonstrating their ability in outdoor activities, training, community involvement, demonstrating leadership, independence and personal growth,” he said.
“The 4th Launceston Scout Group community are immensely proud of their achievements.”
