The class has evolved over the years from water and air cooled Yamaha engines to the spec IAME KA100 engine.
Quality fields are set to line up in all three classes that make up the clubman cup – KA3 juniors, KA3 senior light and KA3 senior medium.
Defending junior champion Lochie Dalton will once again go head-to-head with state champion Tate Frost, however, the pair will need to keep an eye out for the improving Connor Griffin and the experienced Brock Lamont who have both upgraded to FA karts.
Multiple clubman cup champion Nathan Zuj makes a welcome return to the KA3 senior light class and will need to be at his best to hold off a fleet of youngsters including Ellis Dickenson.
Dickenson, in only his second season of karting, is every chance to produce an upset win over pre-race favourite Keenan Slater.
The biggest field of the three will be in the KA3 medium race with 11 drivers penciled in to line up.
Six-time cup winner Zane Wyatt will head the favourites list alongside Murray Dadson, who has been at the front of the field all year.
Alastair Lee and Steven Wrigley are drivers that have joined the class for this weekend and will both be in the battle.
Young Launceston karter Kurtis Love has competed in a number of rounds of the Australian Kart Championships this year and will be keen to show his improvement on home soil along with Devonport brothers Matthew and Jordan Distill.
A full contingent of support classes including the Phil Goss Memorial for racers aged over 40 are also on the program.
Racing starts at 10am with free entry for spectators and canteen facilities available.
