“We still consider that finals are an alternative and are very upbeat about the rest of the season, we are not out of the race by anyone’s measure.
“We are looking to improve on the position where we are in at.”
Longford are placed sixth on the ladder with 3-7 win-loss record and 12 point outside a top five finals berth.
Blair said Roydon Peters would step in as caretaker coach for the season’s remainder, while continuing in his role as the club’s under-18s mentor.
“We will be looking at coaching option available to us from now,” Blair said.
A compulsory meeting involving the entire playing group will be held at Tigerland before training on Tuesday.
