Hinds had been recalled to The Allies to face the West Australians in Perth, but could now join Blues club teammate Chayce Jones (broken ankle) sidelined for the combine side’s next clash against Victoria Country.
“He tried to get back on and he couldn’t,” AFL Tasmania state talent manager Jy Bond said of Hinds. “His thigh swelled up too much and now he’s just recovering.
“I’m hopeful he’ll be right for the next week because they needed his ball movement from the backline.”
The Allies in the process ran out of legs against Western Australia in the emphatic 12.12 (84) to 6.8 (44) defeat.
Bond, on hand to keep an eye over Tassie’s under-18 prospects, said the first-half injury was unfortunate.
“Hindsy played very well until he then got a bad corky going back with the flight of the ball,” he said.
“He didn’t play any real part of the game after that.”
The Allies selectors rested North Launceston youngster Tarryn Thomas, having played in the opening two interstate clashes.
“Next week I think they’ll look to bring Tarryn back. As a 17-year-old, they wanted to give him a rest,” Bond said.
Burnie’s Tommy Mundy was “solid most of the game and was pretty hard at it”.
But Bond believed Tigers forward Hugh Dixon stood out, playing as The Allies key focal point in front of goal.
Dixon kicked one of his side’s four-second half goals, as they drew the margin back from 25 to 16 points by three-quarter time.
