It was a high-energy match in Burnie, with City Marians challenging ladder leaders South Burnie. Marians led the game with clean passes and speed over the ball, resulting in a first quarter goal to Petrina Birtwistle and a goal to Monique Grundy in the second.

At the break City flagged and South pounced with Isabelle O’Conor collecting two goals. Both teams fought for control in the final quarter but neither team converted, leaving with a 2-all draw.
It was a slow start in Devonport however West stepped up in the second with a goal to Lucy Withers. Another by Sarah Gray gave them a comfortable lead.
It was West’s game from there on. Eden Williamson scored late in the third and Ella Bishop collected their final goal. Devonport played a strong defensive game and were unlucky not to score.
In Launceston, City brought the intensity from last week into their match against Tamar Churinga.
City dominated early with a goal to Jo Brumby and maintained control through pressure in attack. Tamar struggled to get the ball out of their defensive half. Sarah White scored City’s second with Hayley Vimpany solidifying their win with a third.
South Launceston were a dominating force on the field applying pressure to Queechy’s defense, resulting in goals to Claire Symmonds and Charlotte Grant.
Queechy honed their focus in the second half, but were unable to convert multiple scoring opportunities. The Suns tried to break the Queechy line, but the Penguins worked hard as a solid unit keeping the Suns from scoring.
