Leading by a point at the last change, East surrendered the lead within seconds on the resumption of play when Turners Beach scored, but the next three belonged to Burton.
His heroics coincided with a notable lift in the intensity of his team mates, including Sam Mansfield who goalled to establish the biggest buffer of the game.
After Jake Howard countered to cut the deficit to 13 points for Turners Beach, Burton put the result beyond doubt with his sixth for the afternoon.
East Ulverstone’s 15.8 (98) to 11.7 (73) win edged them past Rosebery Toorak, who were left nonplussed by the efficiency of Motton Preston.
After establishing a 68-point half-time lead, players such as Dylan Grandfield, Liam Ferrier and Adam Rockliff were relentless in their endeavours for the Demons, who won by 146 points.
That score, however, had nothing on those produced by Forth and Wesley Vale.
The unbeaten ladder leader Forth, kept a youthful Sheffield scoreless in their 256-point win and it was more of the same at West Ulverstone, where the Lions were stopped in their tracks as Wesley Vale piled on 44 goals to two to win by 277 points.
