The fire broke out at the Tasman Highway home about 3.45pm.

By the time fire crews and emergency services arrived, the house was “engulfed” in flames.

It was quickly put out, but the “significant damage” was done to the property.

The resident was home at the time of the fire, but was uninjured.

Investigations continue.
