Held at the Launceston Hotel Grand Chancellor, the competition will see auctioneers from Hobart and Devonport aiming to impress a six-strong judging panel featuring past winners Sam Woolcock and Josh Hart.
REIT Northern branch president and competition convenor Michael Walsh said the top two performers would go on to represent the state in Adelaide later this year.
“It’s a very special thing to be able to go and compete with all the best auctioneers from around the country,” Mr Walsh said.
“The competition is run along as realistic guidelines as you would expect for a real auction.
“We think it’s a great competition and people put the five auctioneers under the pump that’s for sure.”
The competition will be held in conjunction with the REIT mid-year dinner.
