Tasmanian managers, chief executives and community leaders have braved the winter cold and spent a freezing night under the stars for the seventh annual Vinnies CEO Sleepout.

The frosty night was spent at UTAS Stadium, with temperatures tipped to drop to about 4 degrees.
The weather forecast gave an 80 per cent chance of rain on Thursday for the evening and early hours of Friday.
St Vincent de Paul Society Tasmania president Toni Muir said nearly 1600 Tasmanians experienced homelessness every night.
“And tragically, 15 per cent are less just 12 years old,” she said.
“Although homelessness is often considered a problem reserved for our major cities, hundreds of Tasmanians are still in vital need of support.”
Ms Muir said all funds raised throughout the CEO Sleepout would stay in Tasmania to “provide crucial assistance to people experiencing homelessness in our communities”.

“Over the six years of the Tasmanian event, nearly $801,000 has been raised to help provide care and services to homeless Tasmanians,” she said.
