Five $10,000 Sheepmeat Industry Governance scholarships are available as part of a Sheepmeat Council of Australia and Meat & Livestock Australia initiative.
Governance scholarship holders will complete the five-day Company Directors Course through the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
The course equips the sector’s next generation of leaders for positions within the organisation, Sheepmeat Council of Australia chief executive Kat Giles said.
“Graduates learn key skills such as the roles and responsibilities of being a director, duties around risk, legalities, strategy, financial literacy and driving board effectiveness which is useful at a farm management level as well as representing the industry,” Ms Giles said.
