Tasmanian rower Sarah Hawe helped her crew set a new world cup best time in claiming one of Australia’s two gold medals in Poznan, Poland.

Also featuring fellow senior team debutant Katrina Werry and Olympians Molly Goodman and Lucy Stephan, the women’s four crew clocked 6 minutes 22 seconds to make a powerful statement in an event that just a week ago was added to the 2020 Olympic Games program.

Australia’s crew, which had clocked the fastest time in the test event two days ago, upped its stroke-rate to 40 per minute to gallop past the Poles and USA in the second half of the race.
