In early May the small school’s student parliament, represented by a children from each class, voted to support Mission Possible.
Last week City Mission staff visited the school to collect boxes filled with a few hundred items.
School teacher Jenny Clements, the wife of City Mission business manager John, said the campaign provided a different experience for her young students.
“They got to understand what happens in the local community and how they can support it and what they can learn,” she said.
She said the success of the campaign could be put down to the school’s inclusive and caring members.
“We have a very supportive community and the students are going home wanting to support this cause,” she said.
With the boxes now empty, Mrs Clements said the school work to collect more donations before the campaign wraps up on June 11.
