The project was to be jointly funded with the help of the Dorset Council but Ms Rattray says the council should not have a hand in the study.
“The study could be comprised if Dorset Council pays any funds towards it,” she said.
“My understanding is that the study will cost around $50,000 and the council was to potentially stump up $10,000.”
Ms Rattray said she would be saying the same thing if the railway group was offering the cash.
“You can’t expect people to believe that it is an independent study if you are taking money from the Dorset Council,” she said.
