With about 4000 people entering the aged care system daily in Australia, the session was designed to inform and support people in the community on their aged care journey. Uniting Agewell’s Program Coordinator Peter Cullen said it was important people knew what options were available.
“Everybody is ageing,” he said.
“The services are out there and the capacity is out there.
There are a lot of service providers entering the game, so we just have to wait and see how it pans out

“People just need to know where it is and what it is, which is the information we aim to provide.”
The session comes in wake of the news that Regis Aged Care has acquired Presbyterian Care Tasmania’s aged care and retirement living business. Mr Cullen said it was difficult to tell what the full impact of new developments in the industry would be.
“There are a lot of service providers entering the game, so we just have to wait and see how it pans out,” he said.
“All we can do is offer the best service possible at the best price possible with the best staff.”
