The occasion also delivers the Hawks leader the rare double having achieved the milestone for Devon amid six years at the North West side.
Whiley credits her move to Launceston to rejuvenating a stellar netball career that includes ANL appearances.
“I was ready to step away from netball after I left Devon, as I wasn’t really enjoying it any more,” she said.
“I love playing netball when I’m playing with friends and having a close friend of mine in Steffi Grenda, being a big part of the Saints/Hawks lineup for so many years, made the decision easier to switch clubs.
“Turns out to be one of the best decisions I have made on and off the court.”
Coach Ruth Tuohy is keen to switch the focus to the battle for outright second spot.
“We need to be disciplined every time we have possession and make the right decisions to get the ball into our shooting circle,” she said.
“Kingston has a fast centre court, so we need to be consistent on our transitions.”
Cavaliers also hit the road to Hobart to face southern rival Cripps Waratah.
Coach Dannie Carstens will be looking to rebound after a series of harsh losses.
“This week we are looking to build upon our combinations,” she said.
“Although the scoreboard did not reflect positively on the game for us last week against Arrows, I felt it was a vast improvement in reading off each other and being more patient in our attack end.”
Megan Harper, who came on board after Jamie Easter’s season ending injury, has cemented her spot with great volume in the circle and was working well with fellow shooter Estelle Margetts and wing attack Kate Gibson.
“Our main focus will be to do the basics and to do them well,” Gibson said.
“We having been working on our effective use of the ball under pressure.”
