The veteran forward becomes the fifth player to recommit to the club for one more year in the wake of their grand final win over Melbourne Victory, alongside Milos Ninkovic, Bobo, Jordy Buijs and Matt Simon.
Brosque quashed any suggestions of an abrupt retirement and leaving on a high note by signing a one-year contract extension on Tuesday morning.
As reported by Fairfax Media, Brosque requested Sydney FC leave his contract talks until last in order to prioritise retaining the bulk of their squad for next season, suggesting he would be prepared to accept whatever funds were left over.
There was never any thought of leaving Sydney FC for the key man, who enjoyed the most prolific season of his career in the last campaign.
"I'm very happy to be staying on for another year," Brosque said.
"After the incredible highs of the season just gone, we want to carry that on into next year and have another successful season.
"I believe we'll be even better next year, retaining the core of the squad, and I'm looking forward to season 2017/18 getting underway."
