About 100 people attended a soup and sandwich luncheon, raising more than $3100, with some donations yet to come. 

Organiser Sue Cassidy said the event was very successful despite the rain. 

“We are only a small group but most of us have been affected by this awful disease and are grateful to be able to support the Cuppa for Cancers cause each year,” she said. 

“We’re very lucky to have such a supportive community here. They are amazing people who turn up year after year and we are so appreciative.” 

She said they have been supporting the cause for about 25 years.
