I rang seven different contractors who were just too busy to answer their phones or were still in bed and this is not at all unusual with tradespeople of many persuasions these days, unlike the 60s, 70s, and eighties when tradespersons were thick on the ground and desperate to retain their hard earned custom.
I always remember the advice of my elders,”learn a trade son.
It’ll keep you in good stead” and now that there’s a shortage.
They are the best paid people on the planet but i will keep ringing till someone actually takes the trouble to answer.

Job Creation
TRUMP’S reducing company tax, removing red tape, cutting unnecessary government regulations and unshackling American businesses from Big Brother government has already resulted in amazing growth in the US and massive debt reduction after only 100 days.
How can our job creators, businesses, create more jobs while the stifling government policies in Australia hinder them from growing their job creating businesses?
Aussies, individuals and businesses, can all learn from this positive move from the Trump administration.

Walker Rescued
A MAN was found by police and SES rescue teams after spending the night lost at Meander Valley Falls (The Examiner, April 29).
During the past 20 years I’ve noticed an over representation of lost walkers in the above mentioned area. I’ve also noticed that the tracks are poorly marked and have lots of wallaby tracks throughout that are easily mistaken for human tracks.
Tasmania Police said “the course normally takes less than three hours to complete”.
So I ask police why is there a six hour return walk sign at the start of the track?
