A severe weather warning remains in place with rainfall predicted in the North and along the East Coast.
The Bureau of Meteorology has warned heavy rain across the North of the state could lead to flash flooding.
Flinders Island Airport recorded 74 millimetres of rain overnight while Smithton saw 62 millimetres.
Another 30 to 60 millimetres is expected to fall on Saturday.
Isolated totals of 80 to 100 millimetres are likely between Cape Grim and Devonport, as well as thunderstorms.
Wind gusts of 70 to 80km/h are also possible on the North-West Coast.
Locations which may be affected include Devonport, Burnie, Smithton, Sheffield, Deloraine, George Town, Scottsdale, Whitemark, Bridport, St Helens, Bicheno and Fingal.
A Tasmania Police spokesman said there had been no incidents reported as a result of the wet weather.
They urged drivers to proceed with caution and switch on their headlights for increased visibility, where necessary.
About 400 customers are without power in areas of the North-West.
