Olivia Brodzinski, who will play Yolanda during the four shows, said the play explored the idea of love and wrapped up with a happy ending for all the major characters.
“It’s based around Rosalind and Yolanda, they’re the main lovers of the show,” she said.
“In the original version Yolanda is actually Orlando and is played by a male, so I’m playing it as a female.”
As well as taking on acting roles, students have also been given technical responsibilities within the play.
“Stephanie who plays Rosalind, she’s also done all of the sound for the show along with Jacob who plays Oliver, so everyone’s taken on a technical role as well which is really challenging but really fun.
“This course is really good at that because once you get out into the workforce as an actor, you have a better chance of being given something if you’ve learnt all aspects of the theatre, so it’s covering all bases which is really cool.”
As You Like It will be performed at the Annexe Theatre at 7pm from May 24 to 27.
Tickets are $10 each and can be booked by calling 63244450.
