The Blues will be keen to finally get back on the park after an extended break since their round one clash against Clarence on April 29.
“We’ve been training plus we had 10 girls go away to play with the state team to the under-18 carnival and they played two games over there,” Launceston women’s coach Alex Gibbins said.
“We’ve got a few injuries and unavailabilities out of that.
“Maggie Cuthbertson and Courtney Webb are unwell, Ebony Barrenger did ankle ligaments, Daria Bannister will play but has a sore finger and Skye Brown has a fitness test on her ankle.”
Gibbins said the Blues regained senior player Channette Phuringer and will have a debutant in the ruck in Caris-haf Britton.
Mikayla Binns, who finished runner-up in last year’s best and fairest, also returns along with Hannah Viney.
Burnie remain win-less from their two games but have played power teams Glenorchy and Clarence.
“It’s never fun going to West Park and even moreso with a forecast of rain over the next two days,” Gibbins said.
“Their captain Jessica Whelan is the key for them and one of the best in the state and we’ve got some key outs but I think we are better than them so we just have to do it on the day in really tough conditions.”
