About 70 girls aged three to seven attended the annual Enchanted Morning event and were treated to a number of pampering sessions including makeovers, nail painting and hair styling sessions.
There was also a glittering dance floor and a catwalk for them to strut their stuff down.
Event organiser Rachael O’Neill said she wanted to make sure the morning was about empowering the young attendees and helping them know their worth.
“A lot of girls grow up not knowing that they have value and so they have all these insecurities. One way for us to fight that is to have this event,” she said.
Volunteers at the event made sure the message was reinforced when they staged a play at the end to show how every young girl has the potential to succeed. In line with this, the event particularly encouraged young girls with disabilities to attend.
Miss O’Neill said that the biggest reactions were when the girls first walked through the doors.
“It’s just so big and they’re so little that they get overwhelmed sometimes – but in a good way,” Miss O’Neill said.
This was her first time hosting the Enchanted Morning after taking the reigns from her mother.
She hopes next year the event will remain the same but draw an even bigger crowd.
