Shayne Michael Murphy appeared in the Launceston Magistrates Court on Monday with his wife, Katy Liu.
Mr Murphy is charged with one count of unlawfully possessing more than 20 abalone, one count of selling unlawfully possessed fish, one count of possessing abalone for commercial purposes without a licence and one count of trafficking in fish.
His wife had failed to appear with him in March when she was overseas caring for her mother after her father passed away.
Now back in the country, Ms Liu stood beside Mr Murphy on Monday and faced one count of trafficking in fish and one count of unlawfully possess more than five abalone.
The couple did not enter pleas and the matter was adjourned again until June 8.
