The Magpies won their fourth match by piling on 16 goals to two in the dominant first half of a game where the opposition was clearly overwhelmed.
Despite East’s attempts to stem the scoring by putting numbers behind the ball, they were unable to rein in recruit Alex Wadley and Nick Morgan, who booted seven and six goals respectively.
On the West Coast, a Sam Mawer-inspired Rosebery Toorak shrugged off a persistent Spreyton to win 16.13 (109) to 9.6 (60).
It was also the support of players such as Luke Turley, Brodie Dennis and Yolya Mansell, who enabled the Hawks to win their third game and retain their top three spot on the ladder.
In the closest match of the afternoon, Sheffield had to overcome an 11–point, three-quarter time deficit to beat West Ulverstone by eight points.
