Carpeting, carparks, lighting, signage, let alone furnishings, painting and decorating, fitting out rooms etc. Why is it costing the City of Launceston council $9 million to build a two-storey carpark? Another question, I would like to ask of this council, is why the exact cost of this electronic fencing was deemed confidential?
I am filled with relief that Alderman Hugh McKenzie said that the cost to ratepayers would be minimised by assistance from other parties. What? What next will they want to spend ratepayers money on?
Please don't put forward any comical ideas or foolish thought as I reckon this lot would table them but I have no doubt it would be deemed confidential and at a minimised cost.

Disgraceful actions
WHOEVER destroyed the posters of Launceston Greens candidate Emma Anglesey obviously does not care about anyone or anything.
This is the most deplorable act I have ever heard of. Not are they only vandalising a person's rights they also stood to put to risk the homes and lives of those close by, you have to ask yourselves do those responsible find Ms Anglesy and the Greens such a threat that they will resort to arson?
I hope this goes to serve how far others will go to try and stop a candidate displaying their rights to campaign fairly. The Greens have been a part of our state since I believe 1982 when Bob Brown took his senate seat. Whether it be council or parliament, all people have the right to campaign without prejudice and most certainly without vandalism of any nature.
Our Premier Will Hodgman should make sure this is investigated and stopped from ever happening again.
Will this stop Ms Anglesey? No. I don't believe so. Why?
Because as a person and a Green she is above the tactics of others, those that committed this act and whoever was behind it should hang their heads in shame, this act is nothing to be proud of.

Fairness Query
IT IS disappointing to see The Examiner prepared to accept an offensive letter to the editor from Rodney Croome, well known same- sex marriage proponent, which asserted that any change to the state anti-discrimination act would enable people of religious faith to use hate speech against a wide range of people, yet when I write a letter to the editor refuting such offensive claims, it doesn't see the light of day.
I'm concerned that The Examiner may be going the way of some other forms of media and companies that are buckling under pressure from anti-Christian minority groups.

Thermal Power Station Sale
AS A senior citizen and taxpayer, I am an advocate for freedom of information.
As such, I am angered that Treasurer Peter Gutwein appears to be getting away with withholding relevant information regarding the sale of the Tamar Thermal Power Station, (The Examiner, April 12).
All Tasmanians suffered from the power debacle of 2016, and only a minister with something to hide, can act to obstruct his own government appointed public accounts committee from gaining the full facts.
Mr Gutwein, let’s learn from any mistakes uncovered by the public review, and release the full details of Cabinet records to Ivan Dean’s committee. All Tasmanians have a right to this information.
