Boxing fans will be able to get their fix of ringside action when the Launceston Boxing Club hosts its King of the Ring 2 tournament on Saturday night.

To be held at the Italian Club at Prospect, the tourament will feature about 14 bouts on the card.
“We’ve got some pretty exciting bouts coming up inclulding Burnie’s Luke Erikson facing off against Shane Jackson of the Brighton Boxing Club,” organiser Nick Millwood said.
“In the main event Layton McFerrin from the Launceston Boxing Club will fight Glen McKeweon of the Brighton Boxing Club.”
Millwood said the club would have about six fighters taking part in King of the Ring 2.
As well as McFerrin in the main bout, clubmate Brandon Delphin will be lining up for his third fight and will be joined by 14-year-old Darian Richardson who is having her debut fight against an opponent coming down from NSW.
Three-times Australian champion Bailey Wells will also be on the card along with heavyweight Hayden Bannister and Jaycobe McGee.
“Every year we seem to get between 400 to 600 peope come along to the tournament and it would be nice to see the same amount again,” Millwood said.
Cost of entry is $20 for over 16s with under-16s $10 and tickets available at the door.
Doors open at 6pm with fights starting from 7pm.
