A 34-year-old man has been charged after a 20-year-old woman was left in a critical condition, suffering burns to 50 per cent of her body.

Police said the Chigwell man doused the 20-year-old woman with a flammable liquid and set her on fire during an alleged domestic violence incident on Monday.
The man was charged with grievous bodily harm and three counts of assault following the incident in Corranga Drive at Chigwell.
The woman remains in a critical condition and is receiving treatment at a hospital in Melbourne.
