The Clifford Craig Foundation are running their annual charity ball with French to theme the night.
The foundation’s event coordinatior Rebecca Biggelaar said it’s the most significant fundraiser on the charity’s calendar.
“The charity ball is the major gala fundraiser event for the Clifford Craig Foundation each year. We have 350 guests attending the night, and only have two tables left,” she said.
All funds raised from the event stay in Tasmania.
“All funds raised from the night go directly to medical research and that money stays here in Northern Tasmania and supporting medical research projects through the Launceston General Hospital and the university,” Mrs Biggelaar said.
The event will have a three-course menu, with dinner, beverages and entertainment provided. The entertainment is provided by Encore Theatre Company and a local band.
“The night is mainly there to provide awareness to the greater community about the Clifford Craig Foundation and the work we take on,” she said.
“We fund and facilitate medical research here in Northern Tasmania. Doctors, medical specialists and students apply to us for funding and each year we fund numerous amount of projects.
“It’s all local research and they’re all illnesses pertaining to issues that are relevant to Northern Tasmanians.”
NAB have been the events principal partner for abut 6 years and Launceston branch banking adviser Aaron Krause said the event was a great night.
“I went last year which was my first one. It was a really good night and was an eye opener for me, I actually had a lot of fun,” Mr Krause said.
“Whilst we’re a big four bank we employ local people that work here and live here, so we want to fund and support these types of projects as much as we can.”
Mrs Biggelaar said the event was a great chance to enjoy a night out with friends while supporting a local charity. The ball is being held on May 5, at the Grand Chancellor.
