The 19-year-old is one of four Tasmanians among 12 navigators in the national squad heading for Finland.
Esk Valley Orienteering Club’s Dickinson will attend his first-ever world titles and will be eligible for the restricted age competition for another two years.
First-timer Rachel Allen will join fellow Hobart competitors Zoe Dowling at her second event and Jarrah Day at his third.
Tasmania is currently still competing at this year’s national carnival being held in New Zealand.
The Tasmanian quartet made the cut for Australia following strong sprint qualifiers and good individual results in pursuit of the A final.
Dickinson, a one-time Launceston Grammar student, will start in either two of the sprint (3.7kms), middle-distance (4.2kms) or long-distance (11.2kms) events during the annual junior championships.
Competitors will take part in individual orienteering but also in the teams relay event (5.5-5.8kms).
