With beer stalls all around and a table tennis table inside St John providing entertainment, the Quartermasters Arms gave patrons dinner and a show with the help of a blowtorch. 

“We’re interested in not just doing good festival food, it’s actually really important to have some sustainability messages and also the combination of science and food,” owner Stuart Addison said. 

“Filling your belly is science everyday - every time you cook it’s chemistry, it’s temperatures, it’s burning fat.”

Event manager Emma Lenck said the festival had attracted strong crowds on all three days.

“Everyone’s been really positive towards the event,” Ms Lenck said. 

“It sounds over the top but we had a brewer from America say it’s one of the best beer festivals they’ve ever been to, and they’ve been to festivals in America and Germany and all over the place, so to hear feedback like that, we’re pretty chuffed.

“We’re really excited about continuing the event into the future and hopefully it’ll get bigger and better every year.”
