Exhibitor Warren Prewer said he had been taking part in the show for 10 years, and this year took out the ‘Ugliest Vegetable’ title.
“It’s a fun hobby, it’s gardening, it’s getting out, it’s a good group of people,” he said.
The ‘Biggest Onion’ was won by Michael Webster and ‘Giant Pumpkin’ was awarded to Sam Gregory.
Fruit and Vegetable judge Steve Solomon said judging about 25 categories had to be intuitive. Mr Solomon said the produce had to have “a certain energy” and look.
More than 2000 people were expected to attend the annual event.
