If the smiles on their faces and excitement in their voices were anything to judge by, they approve.
Meander Valley mayor Craig Perkins said he hoped the playground encouraged the children.
“It’s a new concept that we have decided to go with to put kids back in nature. They can imagine stuff and invent and play and keep away from the plastic playground,” he said.
Cr Perkins said it was wonderful to see so many people attend.
The Westbury Primary School cooked a barbecue and the children took part in an Easter egg hunt.
The project had been in progress for 12 months.
