Missiles
AFTER reading of Julie Bishop's recent visit to the US, and her discussion with her counterpart regarding Kim Jong-un's threat of using missiles against America and its allies, it was said that the dictator Kim Jong-un's missiles were capable of reaching the US coast and also Sydney.

This could be a worry, although it would be stupid of him to do it.
Although China is the main trading partner with North Korea, there are going to be some serious negotiations carried out between them before long.

Health Care
I’M VERY disappointed with Michael Ferguson; a man and politician I previously admired.
His turn around on the need for a Northern Hospice not being required for another 10 to 20 years flies in the face of what he said at a meeting of Friends for the Northern Hospice a few years ago. The Hospice for the North is needed more than ever, and now.
Also needed is a reduction in waiting times for procedures at the Launceston General Hospital.
I'm lucky to be in a private health fund but there are many people suffering and paying the price of being on a long waiting list just because they can't afford private health cover.
Time to do something about these problems Mr Ferguson, you are the Health Minister after all.

Boardwalk
WHILE I appreciate the boardwalk that connects the Deloraine Rotary park with the Apex Caravan Park, I loathe the dangers in crossing it.
It isn’t the entire boardwalk, but one section of it where the Meander Valley Council has allowed noxious weeds (willows) to grow above it has left the surface with a sticky, slippery coating of sap.
The willow branches are also dangerously close to the power lines.
Just 10 minutes work could prevent a nasty accident and make the walk more enjoyable.
