Mr Skillern will lead the association for another two years.
The association’s board was unanimous in its decision to appoint Mr Skillern again, president Wayne Johnston said.
“We would like to congratulate Peter on his financial management, and leadership of our TFGA team, as well as his excellent advocacy on behalf of the agricultural sector” Mr Johnston said.
“We look forward to working with him to build a strong future for Tasmanian farmers,” he said.
Mr Skillern took on the CEO role in March 2015 following Jan Davis’s departure.
Immediately before taking on the chief executive role, Mr Skillern has spent two years as the association’s policy and advocacy manager.
He also held executive positions with Environment Tasmania and the Liberal Party, and runs a prime lamb property at Campania.
