RSPCA Tasmania general manager Peter West said the Hobart and Devonport shelters were completely full while Launceston was nearing capacity.
“We are really calling on people right across Tassie to look to see if they have room in their hearts and their homes for a little feline friend,” he said.
Mr West said the mild Autumn had facilitated better breeding conditions.
“A longer and warmer period created another litter of kittens that we normally wouldn’t see,” he said.
