The Embers, Guthrie and Jesse Higgs will perform at the Royal Oak Boatshed from 9pm for Kazarama, a one-off fundraiser gig paying tribute to Launceston music lover Karin Grant.
Embers frontman Mick Attard said Karin - better known as Kaz - had been helping out Northern bands for more than five years and had never once asked for anything in return.
“We just want to give back, so on the night any of the money that’s raised through door sales will go to Kaz and she can use that to pursue music or travelling, it’s hers to use however she likes,” Attard said.
“She is such a legend locally and what she's done for original bands in Launceston is why we're doing it back for her.”
Often joined in the role by fellow Launceston music lovers Kay Maloney and Helma Burk, Karin is known for handing out lollies to those coming through the doors.
Not that Karin or her offsiders don’t run a tight ship when it comes to admission.
“They're pretty good - no one gets by, they're tough.
“If there's people left over from meals or in the bar before they set up ticketing they're around getting everyone, so they're no slouchers.”
Guthrie and The Embers are both set to debut new music at the concert, which will also mark The Embers’ fifth anniversary of playing live.
Doors open at 8.30pm.
Entry is $10.
