A future Big W in Launceston is still on the mind of the council says City of Launceston general manager Robert Dobrzynski.

“We understand Big W is currently reorganising its business model, however the company has consistently said it believes it should have a strong presence in Launceston, and that the Launceston market is a very attractive one to them,” he said.
“The council continues to offer Big W every assistance they require in establishing a substantial business investment in the city.”
Mr Dobrzynski said the council would “welcome Big W with open arms” if the business finally pulled the trigger on entering the Northern Tasmanian market.
"We're encouraged that Big W has indicated on multiple occasions that they see Launceston as a great fit for them, and that they would love to be here,” he said.
