But they are okay with driving drinks around the state.
The pair, who are behind Launceston’s Red Brick Road Cider, have just debuted their newest bar: a 1971 Morris Mini panel van.
The couple happily admit that they are obsessed with Minis, and have long dreamt of converting one into a bar on wheels.
For now, a couple of kegs of the ciderhouse’s finest drops are loaded into the back, allowing the duo to serve from the boot.
However, they plan to take it further, and run tap lines the roof vent, and have four taps pouring from the roof.
This course of action will also ensure that they don’t cause any undue damage to the classic car.
“It’s quite rare, because not many have the original panels left in the van,” Baker said.
“And this one was made in the last month of 1971 that they ever made the Morris shape.”
The van will allow the pair to take their cider – and other drinks – to places their portable bar couldn’t quite get to. They also plan to hire it out to public and private events.
Its next public outing will be in Launceston’s Quadrant Mall, on April 15, for the Australian National Band Championships.
